چکیده
Introduction/Objective. The most important etiologic factors for both, capsular contracture (CC) and breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is subclinical infection, defined as a response of an organism on presence biofilm the implant surface. aim this research was to examine possibility formation four different bacteria (Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Ralstonia picketti) three differently textured silicone implants (Siltex, Mentor, pore size 70?150 ?m; MESMORsensitive, Polytech, 50?900 SilkSurface, Motiva pores 13 ?m) in vitro. Methods. Samples capsules (sized 1 ? cm) were divided into groups according texture. After sterilization, 30 samples every group contaminated with 100 ?l examined bacterial broth, followed by incubation which led formation. For testing capability formation, modified technique microtitar plates described Stepanovic? used. Results. All form more sizes ?m compared those ?m. Statistical significance found only exception P. aeuruginosa did not show significant difference Conclusion. Silicone micro nanotexture should be chosen order prevent possible consequent complications.

Bacterial Biofilm Formation on Resorbing Magnesium Implants
Background: Implant-associated infections are a result of bacterial adhesion to an implant surface and subsequent biofilm formation at the implantation site. This study compares different magnesium materials based on their ability to resist bacterial adhesion as well as further biofilm formation. Material and Methods: The surfaces of four magnesium-based materials (Mg2Ag, Mg10Gd, WE43 and 99.99...
متن کاملBacterial Biofilm Formation in Milking Equipments in Lilongwe, Malawi
Background: Some microorganisms can adhere to food handling surfaces forming biofilms that pose a safety challenge. This study was done to evaluate bacterial biofilm formation in milking equipments in Lilongwe, Malawi. Methods: Pooled milk (n=54) and water (n=60) samples were collected from households and milk bulking groups in Lilongwe, Malawi. Swabbing (n=46) and rinsing (n=16) were done on ...
متن کاملEnvironmental factors affecting Burkholderia pseudomallei biofilm formation.
Melioidosis is highly prevalent in Northeast Thailand which is associated with high incidence of Burkholderia pseudomallei present in the soil of this region. B. pseudomallei when present in biofilm becomes resistant to numerous environmental factors and also to certain antibiotics. In this study, we examined the effects of several environmentally relevant factors (salinity, iron, manganese and...
متن کاملMicrofluidic approaches to bacterial biofilm formation.
Bacterial biofilms-aggregations of bacterial cells and extracellular polymeric substrates (EPS)-are an important subject of research in the fields of biology and medical science. Under aquatic conditions, bacterial cells form biofilms as a mechanism for improving survival and dispersion. In this review, we discuss bacterial biofilm development as a structurally and dynamically complex biologica...
